John's Great Great Grandfather

I happend into Valhalla about ten years ago and was discussing Texas History with John who was very well versed in knowledge of everything. I had recently purchased a book entitled" Memoirs of a Confederate Engineer in Texas. It told an amazing story of a man named Getulius Kellersberger. It mentioned that Getulius worked in Austin with a man named Schroeder. Knowing John was a genius in all things mechanical and electrical. I asked John if by chance he was any relation to this Schroeder and as it turned out John is the great great grandson of Kellersberger, Getulius CSA, Engineer Corps, a German who fixed fort's guns, was enroute to assist and also came up with the idea of using the "quaker cannons" made of wood in the defense of GalvestonTx.during the Civil War. I now know where some of "The Genius of John" came from and I want him on my side in any battle whether it be pies or rockets. May He Rest In PEACE. Larry J Miggins , Rice Facilities & Engineering
